will include a 5K Run/Walk in the morning of the event, a
peaches and pancake breakfast, and the festival itself.
This year's event will showcase local and regional
entertainment with music on four stages. The festival will
also have over 140 vendors featuring peach food or crafts,
community entertainment, special events and activities, a
peach cocktail garden, a huge children's area, and tons of
fun for the whole family.

These are not your ordinary fresh peaches either, they are
melt in your mouth delicious and one can hardly describe
the taste of biting into a fresh freestone peach and having
the juice of this heavenly fruit run down your cheeks. The
festival also features Cling Peaches for the baker in the
family to take home and use in their special desert of
their own.

How we got started...
The
California Peach Festival is a fast growing celebration, that was built with
hard work and lots of help. We are celebrating our sixth year in 2005. Started
in 1999 by Jody Sodaro (a local peach farmer) and
Andrew Coolidge (a
local event coordinator), it has grown into a major food festival in California
and the largest peach event in the Western United States! The festival, which is
presented by the City of Marysville and supported by a host of wonderful
sponsors, is expecting over 65,000 people over the course of just two days. So
make sure to bring your appetite and come to one of the most fun, affordable,
and peachy events ever.

The idea
behind the California Peach Festival is two-fold. First, the event is to
showcase the City of Marysville and the beauty of Historic Downtown Marysville.
Secondly, the event promotes a very important and vital agricultural aspect of
the Yuba-Sutter Community, namely peaches. So come and join us on July 15th and
16th in Downtown Marysville for the California Peach Festival. It is fun for
the whole family!
